Maritime Safety & Telemetry Warning

CRITICAL MARITIME SAFETY INFORMATION

DO NOT USE FOR PRIMARY NAVIGATION

Primary Navigation & Yacht Control Warning

  • Not a Navigation Aid: Athena Helm™ is not certified as a primary marine navigation system, electronic chart display, or life-safety aid.
  • Maintain Human Oversight: Under no circumstances should Athena Helm's automated AI voice assistant, digital-twin telemetry charts, or Rig Vision camera systems replace standard human watchkeeping, paper charts, or certified marine instruments (such as radar, sonar, and GPS).
  • Vessel Control Limit: Athena Helm™ does not command active rudder, throttle, or autopilot actuators during this beta phase. All recommendations, diagnostic alerts, and voice prompts are for diagnostic and educational reference only. The Master of the vessel retains absolute legal and operational responsibility for safe pilotage under international COLREGs (International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea).

NMEA CAN Bus & Telemetry Integration

Connecting local hardware nodes to a vessel's physical NMEA 2000 or CAN bus system can introduce electrical noise or telemetry disruptions if done incorrectly. Skipper installation and integration should be verified by a certified NMEA electronics marine specialist. Zensical and Athena Helm assume no liability for sensor malfunctions, hardware damage, telemetry lag, or signal interference during off-grid operations.
