User Guide: Athena AI Voice Companion 🤖🎙️

Athena Helm features a state-of-the-art voice-controlled crew assistant. This allows single-handed sailors to execute physical yacht commands while keeping both hands securely on the wheel.


🎙️ Supported Voice Profiles

You can swap between several onboard personas using the companion panel selector:

When you activate the microphone (or type on-screen), Athena listens for contextual naval patterns:

📶 Off-Grid Fallback (No Internet)

When sailing past cellular coverage zones:

  1. Athena automatically downgrades request handling to a clean, fast onboard offline rule-engine Parser.
  2. Standard telemetry checks, fan toggles, and safety alarms will still execute immediately on the ship's local computer.
  3. Conversational "chit-chat" requiring remote LLMs will queue up, or resolve via your custom Raspberry Pi local Ollama deployment if configured.
